Re: Cyclones and avocados

I am watching the same wx system too. There were 4 systems on top and beyond Australia yesterday night.

I am happy for you and for your avocado bliss. I absolutely LOVE huge ripe tropical avocado.

Now go get yourself a fine mangrove creek before Pam removes the trees where the avocados used to grow.

Take care,
Let us know how things are,

b.

Pete, good luck .

If you have a surplus of ripe avocados, they freeze well. Just puree the juice of half a lemon with each avocado and then pack in a ziploc bag with the air squeezed out. It stops the avocado browning. When defrosted it is good in guacamole or sandwiches.

Good luck Pete.

You should create a generator run on avacadoes.

Re: Cyclones and avocados

LOL an avocaderator? Thanks everyone. We're safely hunkered down in our concrete cottage, winds are rising but peak intensity should be around midnight. I'm picking it will be a busy time for our business after it passes as the mooring field will become a bowling alley with the forecast wind direction

Looks like I was wrong Jim, the track has changed subtly and it looks like Erramango in particular is going to get a real hiding and the rest of Tafea won't fare much better.

Interesting!

I might try this in the future. Sure sounds different and unusual. Thanks for posting it.

Re: Cyclones and avocados

Pam has now changed direction and is heading pretty much straight for us. Category 5 direct hit is going to be very very bad for Port Vila and anywhere else it hits. Amazed we still have power, it's fair pumping outside.
