Alaska to Hawaii route

Whats the best time of the year to do a run from Alaska - the Kenai Peninsula - to Hawaii? Has anyone done this in the fall? What about the return leg from HI to AK? Anyone with experience on this route? How long did it take you?

A friend brought his HC 38 from Hawaii to Seward a couple years ago in May. Took right at 30 days. Did a lot of motoring.

Sewards exactly where I want to go. My family lived there for 9 years. Best sailing bay around! Thanks.
