There is neither an age limit for cruising nor for owning a boat. You need to be lumber/in good health and you need to have a source of income (around $2K-$5K USD/month, depending on your local cost of living.) It will increase your enjoyment if you have acquired a seamanship background.

When you spend more time on Cruiser's Forum than you spend actually sailing.

When the funeral people carry your body off the boat.

Well... considering the exact phrasing "You know you've passed your use-by date for cruising when..."

The use-by date on products is someone else's recommendation on when the product is past its prime. Doesn't mean the product has gone bad or is now a danger to others.

So... what others think about when I should stop sailing/cruising/anything? Don't effing care.

When should I stop sailing/cruising? Very simple. When I can't do it anymore, or don't want to.

When you think it is time to sail into the sunset and just keep going

When I was a live-aboard in Ft Lauderdale one of my neighbors in the marina did exactly that. I can't think of a better way to go.
