Worth buying silver chloride electrode

Thinking of buying silver chloride electrode.

Has anyone bought one and was it worth buying one ?

On a budget.

We recently bought the Z-Ion system with a Catalina compact watermaker and, for the brief time we've owned it, it seems to work fine. Their manual indicates silver and copper ions are released during flushing to keep the membrane and filters disinfected. For what it's worth, before purchasing it, I solicited the opinion of a medical doctor who sails, and he had a very favorable opinion of the process. The system is not inexpensive.
