WooHoo! Assymetrical Spinnaker...a few Detailed Qs

Bluewater will be sporting a new asymmetrical spinnaker this season. YEA! The new asail is coming with a sock. Bluewater is cutter rigged 40ft LOA, 14 tons, with J of 47'7, I of 16'10.

Now the detailed questions:

• The masthead has dual spinnaker bails, 2 is better than one right, what ideas do you have to connect the new halyard block to the 2 bails?
• Where can I find information on sheet and halyard sizing?
• Is it worth the extra $$ to buy sheets that have their core removed for the last 40 feet (a hollow tail)?
• I like the idea of ATN tacker for furling head sails, we have hank on sails, should I make a strop with a hank to reign in the tack by attaching it to the forestay?

I have flown an asymmetrical when I raced J80s, so am familure with their use, but any other tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

One halyard block to both bails? What? Why? No.

10 or 12mm Endura Braid or the like. It can be really small if you're using a sock because you won't be handling it under load.

Don't strip out the tail. You could strip the cover off the standing part if you have a high-performance boat. Better to not strip the part at the head block though. So probably no.

The ATN Tacker is a silly thing. Maybe an ATN Tacker is for cruising gennakers? I wouldn't know as I've never used a gennaker...only real A kites. I let the clew of the A kite fly out ahead and windward of the bow. So the Tacker would be a miserable failure.

If you're using the A kite for cruising it's a big plus if you tell the sailmaker you want it cut to be stable and easy to fly .... unless you want a hard to trim wild fast thing ....

[Prerequisite]

I concur with Daddle on all points. Definitely don't strip the core. It would only benefit a cruiser in such light winds that you'll probably be motoring anyway.
