Winter cover in summer?

We are heading back west for a few months and was curious if we should use our winter cover, which came with the boat, to protect it for the remainder of the summer (protect teak, hatches, deck etc.), while it is in the water. It's in SC where it is pretty hot and humid for the next few months. The boat will have power and AC on. Are there any down sides to doing this (ie. overheating, lack of ventilation etc)?
Thanks in advance.
Money can't buy happiness, but you can buy a boat and it's pretty much the same thing......

Re: Winter cover in summer?

It might depend on what kind of winter cover you have. If it fits tightly I wouldn't use it. I think you need the airflow to keep things cooler so a couple of feet of opening around the sides and ends.
