Re: Why is a Boat Called a She ???

All of my sailing vessels were genderless named... My tugs were masculine.... The baddest of the bad "J.D. Mac" named after my favorite author John D. MacDonald would change the rotation of the world if HE were tied off to something that wouldn't move!

However.... My favorite boat of all time.... A 28 Bertram with twin Yanmars "Cabin Fever" was all girl!

Re: Why is a Boat Called a She ???

Because a captain and his boat share a special bond, second only to that of a woman.

Re: Why is a Boat Called a She ???

Because she is Expensive to maintain. And if you dont look after her she will leave you in a time of crisis.

<Insert semi rude joke- stop reading if youre easily offended. >.

Whats the difference between a wife and a boat? A boat can go down on you in any weather.
