It's a lot of bother to go arounf and gather them all in, especially when you are just going back to the dock in an hour anyway.

They are used on my boat as a speed indicater!! cus all my speed stuff is plugged up with weeds!! when they start bouncing back on deck it's time to reef !!!

Here in the Adriatic if you use an anchor-bouy the idiot charterboaters will tie to it. If you leave your fenders out they will think you are available to raft up with........we hide the fenders!

Happened to me in McCovey cove during a Giants game. A guy in a Bayliner picked up my anchor buoy and was tying up to it before I chased him off.

Haven't used an anchor buoy ever since.

our boat had a Lot of freeboard.
I always left a fender dangling astern as something to grab onto just in case ...
yeah sure it looked hillbilly but as I swim like a brick ..................
