Been a long time since I have seen this.

I remember, if memory services me correctly, that was the cup that NZ Black Magic won it. Took it back to NZ.

Didn't one of US AC challengers in sink off of San Diego also?? Seem to remember that boat actually breaking in two. Seem to remember it was salvaged.

I remember a article in Proboat Builder about how a team of designers and builders who went about, cutting and extending a US entry down in NZ. I think it was damaged precipitating the rebuild. The cup was in NZ at the time.

I remember that day well. I was working in the Reichel-Pugh office in San Diego at the time. Not a good day.
