Which boat to enjoyably sail around the world

The Morgan OIs are a really cost effective way to get into a cruiser. Not pretty or fast but they have a safe full keel design & are strongly built. These boats were designed for the charter trade & have typically seen a lot of use. Look for one that's had an extensive refit, including blister repair which they are prone to, or you'll be putting a lot of work & money into it.

OK I'll throw one in! If I had $90,000 ready I would get the Pearson Rhodes 41 I saw for sale in Seattle for $30,000 and though it looks in great shape already, I'd have plenty left over for all the extra stuff. It is not a beamy boat, and has the interior space similar to a modern 32 footer I'd guess, but that is a sweet, solid boat (built better than most new boats), long keel, rudder hung on keel, no keel bolts, very sea-kindly and sea-worthy... a bargain in my mind and a great choice in a cruiser.
