Where to have a new shroud made: Metric 12 mm.

I need a replacement for a lower shroud replacement. The top part of the stay is a swaged ball-stem fitting , with a dimension of 28 mm(diameter) x 15 mm Length. The 1x19 is 12 mm x 25 ft. It seems that this type of stem ball is hard to find. Any idea as where I shall go to have this shroud made ASAP. For the lower part, I would need a swadged screw fitting again, with 20mm x 2,5 mm tread(corse ) to fit in my turnbuckle. Canada or USA rigger would be most convenient.

I’ve had good service from the guys at Rigging Only in the US. In Canada, you could try The Binnacle in Halifax or Klackospars in Ontario.
Good luck!

It really depends on where you're located. If the boat's a keeper for you, you could consider going to do-it-yourself fittings, such as StaLoks or the ones from Sea Rig. That would depend, also, on just how independent you want to be and the future of the boat.

Can you replace the fitting on the mast? What is special about the one at the mast now?

Re: Where to have a new shroud made: Metric 12 mm.

I live in Montreal, but sail in summer in Vermont-lake Champlain-.
The mas had an accident, and 2 of the 19 cables(1x19!) has snaped at the swage. The fitting on the mast need to be a 28mm ball stem(it goes into a special hole in the spreader's support. What is Sea rig?. I find a rigging compagny that could deal with the metric thing, but can't provide the right stem ball. I can have one made to my specs, but then they wouldnt accept to swage to the metric cable they sell, question of liability aparently.

Might be a dumb ass here but.....
If you had an event with the mast that compromised A SHROUD , what keeps your confidence that the rest of the rigging is sound and not a candidate for replacing more / all of the rigging? Just thinking ........
