Re: What's a Stink POT?
It is what narrow-minded sailboaters call a powerboat. We are blowboaters to narrow minded powerboaters.

In Australia, one term for a powerboat is a 'stinkboat'

Re: What's a Stink POT?
I think of stinkpots as the fishing boats that I can smell from a ways away
I think of powerboats as just a-holes till proven differently

Even better is a great term they have for us sailors... "rag haulers". Love it!

Re: What's a Stink POT?
Imagine you are sharing a nice quiet anchorage with a few other sailboats after long day of sailing from town, that typically have solar panels and wind generators and conservative power needs in general. Then a big powereboat pulls in later after having just left town a couple of hours ago.Being that they have larger than life power needs, they have to run auxillary generator, ALL NIGHT! That is a stinkpotter.Another example of the sense of entitlement that has that has taken over this world. But hey,it sure is nice if you ever need a tow in an emergency and one comes along.Damn stinkpotters!

Re: What's a Stink POT?
When I cruise in Mexico for 6 months a year,I use about $100. to $200. a month in fuel.My sails don't smell or make noise, nor do my solar panels. How many powerboats do you see with solar panels? Not trying to pick a fight, just stating the obvious.

Rag merchants are sailboaters who tack/jibe in front of you without apparent need or warning, just because powerboats are "never" privileged and deserve to be pushed around.
