Re: what wire for 110 v system ?

If it is a 30 amp inlet you need 10-3 (10 gauge three conductor) marine rated (UL-1426) triplex cable. The standard colors and "polarity" are black - hot, white - neutral and green - ground.

There are many sources with an amazing range of prices. As long as you buy UL-1426 rated wire you are good.

Agree with stormalong. Must be tinned stranded boat cable. Never ever standard copper or aluminum you would use on your home.

While I agree that tinning is a very good thing (and we use only tinned wire) it is not a current ABYC or USCG Requirement, just (very) good engineering practice.

If you are sailing fresh water only you might consider non-tinned. I don’t recommend it. Marine wire is both tinned and more and finer wire so that is more flex tolerant.

You might also want to spend some time considering the various marine wire termination techniques. They can be of similar importance to the wire selection.
