What happened to NOONSITE?

I just tried to use NOONSITE to research a Venezuelan port and I got a ERROR 504 message. In small print it indicates that the site is offline. Does anyone know if this is a temporary issue or is it gone for good?

Re: What happened to NOONSITE?

Is up, but if you haven't tried to use it in a while, it will take some reorientation... the digital wonks have "improved" it...

Re: What happened to NOONSITE?

I've supplied information, pictures and more to noonsite over the years and tried to use the site yesterday to find ports of entry in Guadeloupe. The new layout, and marketing direction, is atrocious. What used to be one click is now no longer available, but their new membership model means I've used one of my 3 "free" queries. Quomodo mundus mutat.

Their Twitter feed is active and a link there took me to their site. They did disclose they are revamping their site for the first time since 2019.

Re: What happened to NOONSITE?

What a shame. I guess it is necessary for a business to make money. But it was a better site when it was all text and low bandwidth prior to the last major update. Now it is even worse, and they charge for it.

What is odd is that they charge extra if you want to leave comments. If they are selling information provided by users, they should offer discounts to users that share that information.

This is what they are doing
https://www.noonsite.com/news/noonsite-2023-edition/
Seems the new format is designed for 'mobile device' users - not the 40% of us that still use computers.
