I'm with zeehag. It may not be as detriment. For that matter, may well be better than buying one you don't find that on, if it was an original design flaw.

I'm in process of selling a 29' Ericson on eBay (1979). It's in the water and ready to sail away (and even if I do say so myself, it's a superior boat to the Cat 27 - the available stats back me up. Its one thing to buy the boat and another thing that it maybe perfectly sound. However, one day you'll want to sell the boat....what happens then?
Dont make other peoples problems your own.
