Its all romance and swaying olive trees as we push out Up Button on the anchor (I can never remember the correct term. I still like 'cast' even if I'm pulling it up.).

I got a 1 litre bottle of jack Danials for 21 euros ($26 USD) as we went though customs

(beats the crappa outta Egypt where Customs expect you to give them a bottle...)

Its 19.30 and we sail in about an hour or so upwind about 200 miles to Syros.
Then we inten on drifting back a few islands downwind before heading upwind again to our next country.

And its full moon! No clouds! Sunset and moon rise about the time we get going!

Wind should be light... 6 to 10 knots

And it should be a coupla day drift

2 1/2 days to do 200 miles is my thinking....

That sounds relaxing

God only knows what we will actually get! LOLOLOL

And probably no internet card at the other end so, if you are lucky, you won't hear from us for a bit.

Bon Voyage Y'all! I hope you have a nice trip. When you finally return to the tech. world please give us details of your voyage.

When One "weighs" the anchor, do you log how heavy it is? Does an anchor gain or lose weight depending on how long it is on the bottom?

If you get thirsty when you reach Italian waters, you should find its a lot cheaper there. Limonchello is a must as is Merto in Sardinia.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I am totally blown away!

We arrived in Syros 200 miles upwind and up current of Marmaris taking 2 3/4 days (!!)

Syros isn't on any of our tourist stuff and the pilot guide (15 years old) says it was an old decaying coal bunkering port of Entry with a smelly harbor because raw sewerage is pumped straight in. That didn't make it sound too good at all! So we wern't expecting much!

Well! We arrived in the most sophisticated enclave of beauty ever!!!
Tied up on the town wall for $15 per night (only because we cleared in here, otherwise it would have been free as we would have 'forgotten' to force the 'I wanna pay' issue).

The streets are paved in MARBLE!

The whole of everything in the street photo below, street, sidewalks, buildings are of the highest quality marble that you and me would spend thousands on a small chip for the kitchen benchtop.

Everyone is far more genuinely friendly that any others we have met in the last year.

The little shops are each an amazing thing to see. The liquor shops counter is of solid carved marble. The Deli section of the tiny gourmet supermarkets is a sight for folks who have been where we have for a year and we went berserk getting hams and cheeses last night for our dinner on deck watching the diners in the restaurants 10 feet away eating worse for much more while we supped like kings!

Stuff it. We might just stay here for our 3 months visa and gorge visually and stomachly....... no wegan this anchor!
