As graduates of Offshore Sailing School’s Fast Track to Cruising course, my husband and I recently had the opportunity to submit an entry into Offshore’s 50th Anniversary contest. The goal was to show how sailing has impacted our lives. Our video entry, “Catalyst,” won first prize - a seven night charter aboard a 4600 Moorings Catamaran in the BVI!

We’ll be sharing this prize with three generations of family members. Joining us will be four kids ages 3, 5, 7 and 9, my sister and brother-in-law and my 70-something parents. Look for us (or head the other direction) during Spring Break 2015.

Here is a link to our winning entry. Most of the footage was filmed last summer in the Abacos, but there are some scenes from previous trips to the BVI.

I am amazed that no one has congratulated you on such a great video, and that you are going to take 4 generations with you on your charter. I suspect that this prize will set the hook, and pull you gently into the wonderful world of cruising. Congrats. ______Grant.

Congratulations Amy! I graduated from Colagate in City Island back in 1984... probably before you were born???? But I have been sailing since and have owned Shiva since Summer 85 and I am continually learning new things. Sailing is the best teacher I have had in my life... You got it!

when i get into the depths of winter my joints freeze up and my brain goes into a depressive hibernation .. which is why i live in Florida have fun with your BVI charter !!

Congratulations and enjoy the BVI. That's where we chartered our Privilege 39 before we purchased one. Be careful. You might end up cruising in a catamaran full time.
