Since I live in Vancouver and my boat is in Pender Hbr, I have a LOT of experience in that area. Wind
is generally light along the sunshine coast so plan on a motor
. The tidal currents around Sechelt are a BIG concern: the flood is easily 3 knots. But it's usually a flood (even when it's ebbing elsewhere in the Strait) and the ebb is very light. So going in your direction is easy: it's going back down that's a trick.
There's also a pretty big tidal current
in Malaspina Strait around Cape Cockburn - usually an Ebb (ie against you). Stay on the Texada Island side of the Strait.
The large tides in that area and around Howe Sound entrances can make the ride very bumpy.
It would be a long trip but very do-able.
