Two weeks in Eleuthera

Cherri and I are leaving for Eleuthera tomorrow for vacation. We will have a rental car so will be mobile. Any suggestions on what to see are welcomed. If there are any CF members there that would like to spend a couple of hours filling in newbies on cruising we would gladly spring for the meal.

Yes! Ask around to see the blue hole, there is also a road that has mangrove like trees lining both sides for 100 yards or so. Scientists did a genetic study, turns out it is one tree, pretty cool. We knew a cab driver named Buffalo, ask around he is full of history about the island.
I'll try to find some pictures
Have fun, can't wait to go back, great people, great island.

Re: Two weeks in Eleuthera

Here are some pics. I cannot remember where the "one tree road" is, but it is on the southern side of the island. Not a tourist site, at least it wasn't when I was there.
I can only post one picture at a time, so sorry for the multiple posts

Have fun

This is one tree road, My friend had a lousy disposable camera so pic isn't very good.

Re: Two weeks in Eleuthera

Here is the blue hole. We were feeding these huge tropical fish, no predators, so they grow real big.

I was a surgical technologist (Navy Trained) and scrubbed for 18 years. I've been a clinical specialist for the last 14. The pic was taken when my company was owned by Boston Scientific. Nice pics especially of the anchorage. Looking forward to getting there with our own boat sooner than later.

Re: Two weeks in Eleuthera

An OR nurse here. I scrubbed easy cases, toes, hands, TVH, and such. Circulated all specialties including, neuro, ortho, heart and vascular stuff.

You two have fun, it's a long and beautiful island. People are really nice. Here is my favorite picture. Two little girls I met walking home from school. They were so sweet.

Cherri is an OR Nurse and the manager of surgical services at home. She will be looking for a job soon when she joins me in Florida.
