Twin gens

Saw this yacht online today,
I love the look of the twin wind generation. iGroove on symmetry.
Realized that almost every boat I see, has one, not two, mounted.
Must be a reason. Cost, complexity, PITA, drag

Why do so few boats have two matching wind gen units?

Re: Twin gens

Wind generators in general have fallen out of favor as solar panels have come down in price and gotten better in efficency.

Re: Twin gens

Wind gens like that shade the solar panels badly.

Also they are a liability alongside a wharf, risking chopping up the unwary.

In a knockdown they are also pretty vulnerable.
