You must be getting soft in your old age, it's not that cold in Florida in November! Depends on what you are comparing it to I guess.

St Agustine is North Florida, miami and the keys are south
There is big difference of temperature
So it depends where you are in FL

You can find the free dock info in active captain, it is called North Dock. It says it is not supposed to be for overnight use, but not enforced. You'll have to check active captain yourself to decide if you want to try it. Have fun, it was 28 degrees here in RI at six am. Brrrrrrr!

About mile marker 9, just after G31, there is Top Rack Marina. If you eat at their restaurant you can stay the night for free. This is just before the Steel Bridge. The restaurant isn't cheap but you have to eat and it saves a night's dockage, electric power, showers and wifi. The amenities are some of the best on the ICW. Call ahead.
They also have a fuel dock.

Awesome, thank you! Peaked at the menu, looks like our taste!
Wife will love showering, she is a shower a day person, get grumpy when she has not taken at least a navy shower.
I do not have internet on board

I'm in Upstate SC, started at low 40s this morning..To me, anything under 65F is cold. I hate cold. Of course, I am riding a motorcycle 30 miles to work so opinions may vary.

Re: Transit Time? NY-FL
Scoobert, you through the inlet yet?
were you able to get a sail combo to work? I'm imagining the wind was dead astern and you were wallowing around under power?
Nice accomplishment, will be fun for ya'll to celebrate getting to POrtsmouth. Lots to look forward to now, weather piping up for the weekend though.
How were you getting internet offshore? Were you hugging the coast and picking up cell signal?
One or two more days to keep pushing south, but the weather really picks up Sat/Sun.
The albemarle and Alligator can be rough when the weather picks up so consider a good layover spot. Manteo might be nice option, if you choose to sail the PAmlico down to Neuse.

Re: Transit Time? NY-FL
We were downwind, the #3 jib pulled us at 6 kts most of the night.
We are at the naval base now.
Cell signal at 3-4 offshore is great!
