34's can usually catch us downwind. However, in this case I totally botched the windward leg. I tacked early because the most aggressive racer
was passing me closer than I was comfortable with for my first sail without my partner, then I didn't commit to it enough, so luffed a bit trying to get past an obstacle before I finally tacked back, then I floundered at the mark...Start and all other marks were near perfect, but wow, did I mess that one leg up bad.
