Tiller vs Wheel

When does a wheel become necessary or more desirable than a tiller? I see some small yachts with wheels and wonder why they have them. I like the feedback the tiller gives. But at a point in boat size, the tiller would be to hard to handle. What are peoples views on this? When is a wheel more desirable than a tiller and vice versa?

When the mechanical leverage of a tiller becomes inadequate to steer the boat. Depends on boat size, design, and owner inclination.
