Tiller Shaft Grease ?

I have a 37' fiberglass sloop and I'm told that I am to squirt grease in my tiller shaft.

This grease displaces any sea water inside. Any input on type of grease to use etc .......? thanks.

There are a couple small holes in my tiller shaft that are for squirting in grease. I'd sealed these when I didn't know what they were for because they were leaking water.
