Through the Great Lakes out to the Atlantic?

Any of you have experience with this route? I'm considering a trimaran currently on the hard in the south end of Lake Heron. Not a freshwater kinda guy, I'd have to get her to the Atlantic, but that looks like a very long route. Any of you done this route? Thoughts or suggestions? I'm pretty sure she can't be shipped to the ocean.

THANKS!

I'm in the same situation with my boat in lake Erie. My current plan is to take it out through the Erie canal.

Re: Through the Great Lakes out to the Atlantic?

Did the route last May and it is a wonderful trip. Left Marinette, WI May 3rd and was in Halifax, NS by early June. The cities and towns are picturesque, especially Quebec City and the current is with you. We didn't push hard and spend extra days where ever we felt like it. We traveled several nights on the Great Lakes stopping in Presque Isle on Lake Huron for my Mom home cooking.

So far excellent info. Foamcore, maybe we should collaborate on it? What type of vessel will you be bringing?

LakeSuperior, what then? Where'd you go after Halifax? Foamcore, what are your plans once she's in the Atlantic?

We crossed with landfall in Crosshaven, Ireland. Cruised up the west side of Ireland and to Scotland for the summer.
