As for rebuilding the head, I have way more incentive than a transient crew to avoid letting a single molecule get in the bilge. Teak is relatively easy. Back and forth. With the grain. Over. And. Over. And. Over.

I thought it was against the grain if sanding Teak?!

The golden rivet is pretty dated as they have not been riveting boats for a while, both are unachievable tasks for a unsuspecting new person to be saddled with by a nefarious boss. In general big boats tend to be somewhat departmentalized. There is a lot of lore on any boat especially one with a large crew that is out for extended periods month plus.

Do boats still get barnacles on them that need to be taken off? Can that be done at sea?

How about coiling rope or is that just for experts?

Anything need to be cleaned with a toothbrush?
