Is it just me... Or do all of boaty's threads seem to be riddled with comments that are teetering on the edge of "acceptable societal norms"...

It is peculiar to the british way of nautical thinking and does not refer to females.

Atolls response was in accord with the question and then went on to address WHO might have been with him.. it could so easily have been one of the other crew members (male) but it was known that Phils girlfriend was involved in this trip.
