The Rules for a cruisers Sydney to Hobart !

.......In the spirit of the original race .....What are the "rules" for a "Cruisers Sydney to Hobart race".

already suggested from another post to get it started...

"I think the cruising division sounds fine. we could handicap -1 hour for every hot cooked 3 course meal served on bone china; and +1 hour for anyone who gets sea sick; - 1 hour for whale photos; -1 hour for trolling a fishing line and -2 hours for catching dinner!"

....What would be the "prize"

The polishing of boat bottoms would be illegal for a least three months prior to the race , just to even up the fleet.

Dogs count as crew members.

Matching shirts is strictly forbidden.

Unless you are washing smelly feet, sitting on the rail is discouraged.

There must be enough beds for all crew members...unless you chose other wise.....

First person over the line cant win...(its called "line dishonors"..

.....extra for radio call to nearest boat in front, to describe said unclad crew.

Raising of spinakers after dark, or for that matter at all.....+ 1 hour.

..Not bringinging anything to BBQ +1 hour.

Definately NO captains caps or jolly rogers..(we do have some class)...

- 1/2 hour for every kid on board....unless the "oldies" are down below sleeping , in which case plus 1/2 hour for every kid.

Bow thrusters...+ 1 hour.

Noisy generators...disqualification... (unless the party is on said boat)..
