The most pathetic thing------

The most pathetic thing in the entire seven seas is a broke yachtsman--whether or not he has a boat--probably more pathetic if he has one......

Yacht and broke in the same sentence does not compute.

You do know the difference between a yacht and a boat?

Not sure one can be a yachtsman without a boat, er, yacht.

I'm told that a yacht is any boat bigger then what ever I sail on.

Luckily I'm just a broke sailor and avoid yachts like the plague

If you not broke your boat is too small The golden point is to be about broke after paying all the boat bills, not before

Let me translate. One doesn't deserve to be on the water unless one's wallet is fat.

Thankfully I'm just a humble broke sailor. And quite content to spend all my money on food and my old boat

Ain't the matching dighy cute.

Re: The most pathetic thing------

Actually, a "yacht" is where the owner pays someone else to work on it, no matter it's size.

A "boat" is where the owner works on it themselves, or even has friends/family help with the work.

So, the moral of the story is; a broke yachtsman is just a sailor until situations change.

Re: The most pathetic thing------

a yacht used to be defined as an "ocean going pleasure vessel"

Nothing more pathetic than a 40 year old ski bum.

It may, if you bought your Oyster with smart financing.

Sure thing, owning a yacht does not make one a yachtsman!
