The Gentleman and The Lady in Port Townsend

Yesterday, about noon, in a strong southeast breeze, the two of you helped me off the southern dock of Port Townsend Boat Haven Marina.

You were a black gentleman and a young white lady, and I was the skipper of Audeamous, a 37' sloop with a gray hull.

You were both strangers, very knowledgable, cooperative and friendly.

You helped a fairly new skipper execute a maneuver that I had been dreading all morning, getting that boat off the south side of a dock in strong wind.

I never got your names, and I'll probably never see either of you again. But you're both welcome to sail with me any time, and if we do manage to get together again, I'll buy you both dinner, because I never got a chance to say thank you properly. By the time we were done, I was off the dock, and I had to keep the speed up in that wind, so I just sailed away.

I hope you see this; if you ever see me again, tell me who you are, and we'll spend some time together.

Thank you.

Be well.

~Jammer

I wish one of them had seen the thread-- I would have liked to stay in touch, and arrange a meal with them.

Lies. Port Townsend is somewhat north of Australia. Like from forty three south to forty eight north.

But if you make it up here, I'll meet you at the same dock and we can eat.

(Fortunately, the real folks who helped me off the dock will be able to describe me and my crew, and state what, if anything, was unusual about that crew.)
