The Cruising Life: Special Occasions Before and While Sailing

Hello everybody,

Have you ever wondered about how cruisers celebrate special occasions while roaming around the islands or about certain sacrifices to start the sailing dream?

I just wrote two entertaining blogs about this topic on the renewed XWaters website. The first one covers celebrations while on the water and the second describes Mark and my "forced" (controversial) wedding before we could set out (and leave the US) with our 35' catamaran Irie.

Check out Xwaters.com | Liesbet and enjoy. I'd love to hear from people with similar experiences as well!

I'm lagging behind a bit on my personal blog (It's Irie), because of my "real" wedding party coming up this weekend, here in St. Martin, but I promise a couple of funny pre-wedding stories that involve rum punch testing and ring picking! :-)

I llke the Pepperidge Farm Mint Milano cookies that the author of "Atlantic Circle" took for creating "special occasions" in the middle of the ocean when she needed one. Small, but effective.

Pepperidge Farm Mint Milano cookies. Not sure what that is, but it sounds like a great idea to take something small and special from "home" to celebrate events. I always have some Belgian chocolate in the fridge. Comes in handy on birthdays and as dessert when invited on other sailboats.
