The internet is anonymous and it is far too easy to fall prey to the discourse we've seen for the last 8 pages or so...

REMEMBER: Opinions are like "a******s", everybody has one and they all stink!!

CHILL UP!!
I for one agree.

Differences of opinion are no excuse for poor behaviour, though I too fall prey occassionally.

I'm justo now working on a book, "Amussing Ourselves to Death" which lays the problem at the feet of changing communication modes. TV and the 30 second sound bite tend to degrade discourse to the lowest level.

And Babbs, I'm starting to hear more and more serious researchers state that we have lost a lot of our raw I telligence, (including brain size drop?), since agriculture and/or culture have arrived.

The third grade behavious here do get tiresome at times.

I don't see how, I mean intelligence dropping since men having passed to the agriculture /culture phase, but I am interested on the investigations you talk about. Any link?

I do believe however that on our days that is quite possible, I would say even probable, since the more intelligent and apt are having less kids than the less apt and that kind of reverse evolution laws, where the more apt reproduce more.

Regarding poor behavior cruiser forum is what their members are and we cannot hope all to be polite. Anyway, as it was said, as a whole it mostly a nice forum and most members are correct even when they do not agree with other's opinions. The ones that resource to a bullying attitude are very few.
