Wet undies? Laddie, haven't you invested in marine grade kilt yet?

"now does anyone have one on board your boat?" A boat with just one bidet aboard surely must be owned by the poor folks.

Proper Japanese toilets have offered wash and dry services, with warmed air, for many many years now. There's a reason they call the rest of the world barbarians.

How to dry off afterwards?? Using a hair dryer in the appropriate area may work. Just be careful to leave said unit on low power... Don't want to over heat any sensitive areas down there.....
And think of all the TP you won't have to keep on board...

Great topic for cruisers, actually. I don't want to take TP on my trip & have to store it, although there is biodegradeable. I think that salt water would cause quite a rash over time, so water tank capacity becomes an issue with a fresh water bidet. I was originally skeptical when I discovered the local custom in The Philippines, but I now understand why the thought of TP repulses my wife; it is not as sanitary. How do you clean? Well, it really is a hands-on type of thing.

Re: The Bidet . . . What Is it and Do You Have One ?

salt water is totally perfect...

I have a bidet in my house and will have a bidet on my boat... how this US society got away from this is beyond me....

it doesnt take a lot of water, nor a lot of pressure, and no 'scrubbing' ever...drying can be a slight dab with some tp or not... that goodness for cotton haynes..it isnt that wet, not more then after taking a shower... and not patting down the backside with the towel do you?? no need to answer, it's a general question...and the answer would be tmi...

as is this subject.. but actually, i did aask in the other thread and never got a real answer, so i am glad to see it wont be a problem...
