Re: Thanks!

Dang, you were in the ICW? Yep, I would be nervous too, nearly got run down anchored on the ICW. I did not want to anchor in that particular spot but the captain overrode me,( sometimes it's hard to be crew ) so I slept in the cockpit with a spotlight. Hour later two pair of red and green, side by side, turned up our inlet, we would if been run down with out an anchor watch.
Be careful.

Re: Thanks!

Congrats Snore!!

"The scary part was a white-out with horizontal rain in a narrow channel in the ICW. "

it only gets better from here

ICW a little bit different than in TX. (dam near been run over a couple of times south of Freeport...sailing not anchoring) more gunkholes in FL.
Still... always use caution

Re: Thanks!

Yep, this was actually Louisiana, where a white T-shirt on a stick is a USCG approved day marker I've done ICW brownsville to Miami a couple times. Florida ICW is like a four lane highway with fancy signs and well lit exits, nice! Except for that funny little old lift bridge that dictates if you go through Florida or around it.
Sorry for the thread drift.
