Thank you to all for the great advice

Hi folks,

I just sold my CSY 44 yesterday. As many of you might know, I am a voracious poster of dumb questions regarding sailing and everything else. This group has given me tips on everything from anchors to solar panels, and many other topics. Although I am not leaving the site, I am switching over to a trawler, which means that I will probably ask fewer question of all of you. Thank you for your patience and wisdom.

I will miss Odyssey terribly, and I'm happy to report that her new owners plan to circumnavigate with her in the future.

Thanks again folks.

Cheers, Bill

Have fun with your new trawler. That's a common next step for many sailors up here in WA. So we have many friends who are stinkpotters now.

I never think of trawlers as stinkpotters. They're all former sailors or sailor wannabees, and for the PNW they are great for keeping dry inside and still be able to see the beautiful surroundings.

It's the go-fast boats that are the true stinkpotters.

Good luck in your new vehicle.

Just so all know how I feel, I did not mean to be disparaging about calling trawlers "stinkpotters". I have several friends who have them and we all joke about how you go from sail boat to power boats up here in the PNW and we all use "stinkpotters" in a jesting manner. No offense meant to any trawler owners out there. They are just as good as sailboats, just different and for different uses and sensibilities. I may have one some day and I will call it a stinkpotter too in a non-disparaging way. 'nuff said.
