callmecrazy and chipg

LOL and thanks very much. I will have to try a little learning here I suppose.

About the music to add. I have never even listened to much music so I would be hard pressed to be able to pick something appropriate even if I wanted to. But say I did. Where can you find that to clips pieces of? Legal and all.

Ohhh geez, he'll never figure out sonic fire, have you read his posts?

Therapy, google royalty free music or free royalty music, not sur if you know who Moby is but he is a famous musician that scores a lot of movies, anyway he offers his library for free: film music | mobygratis.com. As do other famous musicians, google Is your friend, you can spend a lifetime going through free music. If it were me and NOT for profit I wouldn't worry to much about using a song you like gor your home videos.

Re: Taking videos - sound problem

You could always go old school and just have a tape recorder with wind-resistant microphones. Then throw away the windy video sound and sync up the taped audio in post.

But I'd just learn to enjoy the wind noise.

You're in luck!

You can do this entirely on YouTube. I just tried it out to make sure before posting here.

Just upload your video as usual. Then go to your "my videos" page. Select "edit" next to the video you want to edit...

On the edit page, you will see a tab at the top called "audioSwap", click it...
Here you have a choice, either click "I'm feeling Lucky" to let youtube pick a song for you, or you can scroll through the music listed below and pick a song.
It's best to put a check in the box "Only show songs of similar length to my video"... You can pick songs, then preview it with the video before making any permanent changes... once you've decided on a song, click save.

To go even further, you can add Titles and subtitles and text to your video with the other tabs on the edit page.... have fun

Thats it.

Edit: An even easier way than scrolling through the songs and trying to pick one, is to click the 'preview' button below your video, then click the 'i'm feeling lucky' button to let youtube pick a song. You can then simply keep clicking it to change songs until you find one you like... Click it all day until you like a song because it is pretty random and youtube has a whole lot of songs....

Thank you so much.

I will try that approach and see what happens.

I really appreciate you taking the time to check things for me.

My German brother from another mother shot this video and used a combination of Michael Jackson and some Italian rap music, bear in mind it was shot on an older gh1 camera body that you can buy now on closeout for $399 but I think your ok for using any music you want for a home video but don't quote me or sue me, it's just my oppinion.
