In 1961-2 I had some time in the Kyber pass along with my dad. I even have a pistol Dad got from the Ghandara gun factory. Pathans regularly visited our home in Pershawar.

On another defense option: a friend of mine, who was cruising some years ago, told me he used to use the top life line (railing) and put a low current on that. A little bit like having a catfence all around your boat. It was meant to deliver a shock - in both senses of the word.

(Help! My English is falling desperately short here, hope someone understands what I mean ... )

He said it worked fine, just a bit of a pain when climbing out of the dinghy drunk and forgetting about it yourself ...

It would take you weeks to read them all.
And then you would have to decide what will work for you.

I kinda liked the catfence idea, but not sure if that actually does anything except make it hard to crawl out of your dinghy. Hard enough as it is, especially when drunk

Personally, all I'm really doing is locking the boat and I don't plan on much more then that. Since I'm on a sailboat, I already own some good knifes

Kinda sad my boat is way too small for a Rottie Best protection I've ever had, methinks.

Quite a few Americans from that used our Club pool and tennis courts.. and my old man took a few wild boar and duck hunting.
They weren't to keen on wading through the Jheels after the boars tho'.. 400lbs of muscle with razor tusks and fast moving was not their idea of hunting

No, don't know about the dam.
We went hunting the hare up in the Khyber some.
He built the airfield that Gary Powers flew his ill-fated U-2 from.
Then the Indians came over and bombed it. We had anit-aircraft emplacements around the neighborhood. One right next door. Pretty intense for a 9yo. especially when the bombs went off not far from the back wall and blew all the windows out of the airfield side of the house.
Pissed my dad off. They leveled his new control tower.
Then they evacuated the women and children.

Seems the nooze helps people who want to have a blaze of glory. Lotta psychology there.
Another part of what is going on is the polarization caused by the nooze agencies. No longer are they interested in simply broadcasting "news" but are political agencies used to scare their viewers into following a particular party line.

Very true, also most TV talk shows and serial drama TV shows as well as a lot of movies push a political agenda.
