Surprise - A Beautiful Schooner

While racing our cars at Watkins Glen N.Y, a few weeks back, had dinner on the deck at Watkins Landing on Lake Seneca.
Watched this beauty sail down the Lake and tie up at the dock.
Walked over and introduced ourselves to the owner of True Love, an Alden 58 ft Malabar, immaculately restored.
Seemed strange to see what we all visualize as a deep-water passage maker on this body of water.
We WILL sail on her next Memorial Day weekend ,when we race at Watkins again.

Anyone know what this ship is?

Saw this ship while sailing on the west side of South Bass Island in Lake Erie a couple of weeks ago. Anyone know what make it is?

Looks like a 'One Off' pirate ship.

Hey Charlie!!--gimme a break, man. It was late evening, no camera-and like I said, did not expect to see her there. She does have a web site, just punch in schooner True Love.

It's the Brig Niagra, a replica of Com Perry's Flagship. It is often found in the islands during the summer months. Not sure if it goes south in the winter.

Thanks Hud,

I think Charlie has been inhaling locust dust. He's probably having withdrawal symptoms from not working on O Joy

She is a pretty one. Did they change the main over from a gaff? The mixed gaff and marconi rig has me wondering...
