Supplemental Insurance

Hi.
we are Canadaians, with a Canadian registered sailboat. We currently have boat insurance that covers us for anywhere in N. America up to 75 miles offshore. We are looking for recomendations to obtain extra insurance for the Bahamas, any suggestions? Thanks.

IMIS and Boat US are two places to start. My guess is you may have a hard time finding a supplemental policy, but may have to get a new one despite already being insured.

Have you contacted your present insurer to ask about adding the additional coverage you need? I think you're better off staying with your current insurer and adding coverage than changing insurers.

If your present insurer won't give you the coverage, or they don't offer it, then start looking for a new insurer.
