Subscribing/Funding to Youtube videos.

There are many sailing videos on youtube that would like their endeavors funded by all those who watch, I won't name any out right.
This is not intended to fault them but is it hypercritical to watch them without giving support? Are they operating as business and claiming it as income? If they are it would lend some support for contributing as it would be more like a business.

As of now I am of the opinion that "no" if they post it I willwatch for free and enjoy but was wondering what the general consensus is.

My opinion is they are like a street performer, if you desire, toss them some money.
But again my opinion is there are too many people with their hand out, and far, far too many people that are seemingly just absorbed with themselves.
Selfies? Selfie sticks? I was at a Steve Miller band concert last week, several people wanted to get right by the stage so they could take "selfies" with the band in the background, it was annoying and at one point Steve Miller even took a phone from one Woman, to the cheers of the crowd I might add.

I watch very few myself

I don't mind paying for quality entertainment or information. I would like the creators to continue doing what they are doing. So I donate to Keep Turning Left and Compass Marine.

If it's not a pay site then it is fine to watch and not donate. If you really enjoy it and want the creator to keep going then helping defray the cost and time required is a good idea.

Steve Miller's still performing? Man, I would have loved that!
