Whenever possible I do a direct return - quick stop? - anyway, pretty much a 180 that usually starts with a gybe and then a beam reach to just below the target. If I miss then it's another gybe to just below the target. To position properly it most often looks like a teardrop, I guess.

In this case with such a small target we tacked the second time came above it on a reach, stopped and drifted down on to it.

I was really tempting to reach over and press the happy button - I mean, I really love that coozy!
