Storage on the Caribbean Side of Panama

We are looking for a facility on the Caribbean side of Panama, as a short term storage 2 to 3 week in the water or perhaps a much longer term 6 to 8 month storage on the hard. Has anyone had experience with the Shelter Bay Marina in Colon, Panama.

Left the boat in Shelter Bay for 3 weeks this year. Its good and secure, but not cheap. I'd do it again. Its an $80, 2hr+ cab ride to the airport.

Shelter Bay Marina is about the only one there, as far as I know. Unless another has been built since I was there.

You could also take a day and go up to Bocas Del Toro where there are a couple of Marinas that are great (Marina Caraneros) and less expensive than Shelter Bay unless things have changed. There was a place called Panamarina just past Portobello that offers secure moorings and they will watch your boat. Also less expensive than Shelter Bay. You can get a commuter flight from Bocas and a taxi from Panamarina for not a whole lot more than the airport from Shelter Bay. I have stayed at all three.
