Spinnaker Use in the Bahamas

Just curious those of you that cruise or live in the Bahamas, do you use your spinnaker very much?
Planning on living aboard for the next 12-16 months and Debating on keeping or selling ours, it takes up alot of precious storage,

Re: Spinnaker Use in the Bahamas

Well, since you have had 77 looks and no one has stepped up.

We do not have a spinnaker but I really wish we had one. There were some longer trips between island groups (Spanish wells to the Abacos for example, or the southern berries to Nassau) where I wish we had one.

It was our short experience that only about 20% of the days in the Bahamas are ideal sailing days, with the rest of the days having way too much wind or having way too little. "Too much wind" for us is easily handled but "too little" wind was a problem for us. We ended up motoring a lot more on those passage days where the wind was too little.

In the sea of Abaco the sails are short - maybe 1 to 3 hours - so I didn't see a lot of people using their spinnakers.

We keep our cat in the Abacos and use our asym all the time. With the sock it's easy up and down. Our favorite sail
