Somehow i flipped my new(to me) boat

My new Cat-Ketch 29 foot mono got flipped. Please examine the photographic evidence and tell me what the heck happened? Smile
1st pic., off Benecia, Ca. on test sail.
2nd pic, boat trailered home to strip her.
3rd pic, spars ready to be tarped up
4th pic, slinged up
5th pic, flip her (what did you think I meant when I said I flipped Her?)
6th pic, ready for disc sanding.

These guys in Napa Valley Marina, 707-252-8011, are professionals and friendly helpful guys. They had never flipped a 4000 lb boat before. They knew it would be a lot easier disc sanding, fiber glassing, and painting if it was bottoms up. Can you imagine laying on your back and running a disc sander with all that shizzle raining down on you? Paying 25 bucks a day for the yard. Will rent their Festool 6" disc sander with attached particulate vacumn for another 30 something a day. The lady in there said you can do a bottom in a day. I said look at my age ....are you kidding me? She just giggled. Never did any fiber glassing before. But I hold a youtube doctorate in fiber glass techniques. He he ...the guys working on the boat next to mine said they will get me through the process. Whew!!!

Well, wish me luck. Working at the hospital in the evenings and doing a bottom job during the mornings. Had a whole different meaning when I was a young dude.

Looks like a great way to do it lol! Why does it need fiberglass? Did you have blisters or other damage?

It is a boat made out of plywood. Hasn't had a bottom job for quite some time. The builder fiber glassed the chines where it turns from the bottom to vertical. Some of the places the fiberglass is missing. So want to bring her back to better shape.

By the way, we loved Napa Valley marina. They were the only yard in NoCal that could haul our 50' cat. It was surreal motoring up there through cow pastures and inland countryside.
