Not quite, but almost. I ordered and have been carrying onboard a Whale grey water tank -- I intended to install it beneath the galley sink because the sink clogs frequently.

Two things have deterred me. The first, is that although the sink drains directly overboard below the waterline, the proper way to connect a pump requires a vented loop above the waterline. The second is that others (Dockhead) have basically said it simply moves the clogging problem to the grey water tank -- so be sure to have easy access for cleaning it out.

I solved the issue of clogged drains by getting a pair of SS mesh strainers from Walmart for $3 for both sinks. Now all I do is frequently empty them into the garbage bin. Had them now for 3 years and love how they keep the drains clean. Surprisingly for a SS product "made in China" no rust whatsoever so far.

I suppose someone, somewhere has installed a garbage disposal on a boat but I can't see the point. We seldom use ours at home. We have a strainer in the sink and empty it into the garbage can.

I captained a 65ft Irwin center cockpit ketch in the Windward Islands some years ago. The boat had a regular household disposal unit under galley sink, but also had a straight run down to the bottom of the hull, through a standard thru hull and seacock. Never had any issues with it.

I have a Searunner 40 trimaran. In the aft cabin-located galley, just outboard of the galley sink, is a 4 inch PVC pipe that is covered with a plastic inspection port that leads down, about 6 inches to the underside of the underwing. When preparing food for a meal, or when disposing of food prior to washing up, I can simply toss it into the "garbage disposal" and even see the fish eating the food. Underway, there is little chance of a wavetop splashing up, but if necessary, I just screw the inspection plate cover over the pipe to seal it. My underwing, at that point, is about four feet above the water surface. Sorry, no pictures, as I have ripped out the sink and counter prior to overhauling it and remodeling the galley.
