Re: Shoes

I have had these for 2 years: CREW
They are perfect for me: lightweight, fit the shape of my feet, comfortable, good grip on the deck, not too smelly...

Re: Shoes

Skippy,

I, too, have wide, flat, arthritic feet. I wear orthotics inside New Balance cross-trainers. They don't last too long, but give the support I need, and improve the alignment of my toes (because of the orthotics). I wish I could have sandals that work with my orthotics, but all efforts in that direction have failed. I also go barefoot on deck. My toes just have to learn to avoid the hard bits.

Hey HappMDRsailor, that's my sidekick or shadow. Snickers my dog. She's a registered therapy dog who goes out n visits people n puts a little happy in their day. Plus she is my therapy too! In her spare time her hobbies are "squirrels" when on the dirt n "crabs" when on the dock n "couch" when on the water.
Thanks everyone for your help. I've got some new ideals for shoes!

Me too, they look like very good shoes at a great price. I bought three pair and another for my visiting brother, we'll see next week if they are as comfortable and functional as they appear to be.
I've picked up a few things, including two pairs of shoes (one a Sperry leather that is the finest shoe I've even owned, at less than half the usual price), from West Marine recently too. It's sale/clearance time at Cabela's too.
Lots of good sales going on now (mostly 'clearance' stuff'; but hey, it's still good stuff.
And no, my middle name isn't Imelda M., I just seldom ever buy shoes/clothing, just every couple of years I restock.

Just give me new ideas of any shoes out there I might try.

Wow, those are great deals. I personally love the Keens but at those prices would try Harkens. Unfortunately, I eventually learned not to buy shoes without trying them on. So internet deals don't work, unless I am buying an exact copy of the shoe or clothing I already own. And even then, I've been burned a few times when clothing suppliers change their own sources. Columbia the main culprit, in my case.
