Shocking Experience Raising Anchor

I was raising the anchors on my boat one day, and when I got to the chain, I started getting shocked!!! As in Electric shock.
Anyone think they know why?

If it was seriously shocking I would suspect a closeby damaged underwater cable. If it was a tingle I would suspect some leakage through your windlass.

Not sure of your location but I have a friend who experienced a whopping shock when someone handed him a speargun that was connected to a torpedo ray. [Big electric fish.] He got zapped twice and threw the gun overboard! This was in the north atlantic.

you are so magnetic when you passed your hand over the metal chain it induced a current.

You have the output of your wind generator hooked to the anchor chain in attemps to rezinc your chain using your boat zincs.

Better yet hook one polarity to the neighbors boat and save your own zincs.

That is not possible. I would suggest you are having your leg pulled. That's Kiwi for, someone is having you on. ummm...that might be Kiwi too. Someone is fooling you.
