I remember sailing around Europa Point in Exit Only, and then taking a land tour there after we arrived in Gibraltar.

The shipwreck looks like it has a lot of potential to become an environmental disaster when the fuel tanks rupture on the ship.

Stupid Lighthouse keeper! Couldn't he see the ship? Just had to move his cliff a few meters....

I sailed in and around Gib all of last fall. There was another ship wreck withing a stones throw of there being salvaged due to it colliding with another. Huge amount of ship traffic.

We sailed into Gibraltar at dawn on passage from Majorca. There were bazillions of ships anchored in the harbor with their lights on, and numerous vessels underway entering and leaving the harbor/anchorage. It was all hands on deck dodging ships and trying to figure out where we were supposed to be. It's not surprising that collisions and groundings happen in such a congested area.
