Ship Hits Catamaran
The 600' Turkish ship “Gulser Ana”, hit the catamaran “Courtship” (Venezia 42) about 350 miles west of Bermuda, onSunday, November 18.
On Friday (Dec. 23) Latitude 38 will explain why they think it was done on purpose.

Guess - it was being abandoned buy the crew, and this was a novel way of sinking the boat so it was no long a floating hazzard?
Nope, I just looked again, and it looks like somebody was onboard. Crazy.

I wonder if he was dead in the water. Otherwise I am sure the skipper would have moved. My motto is always, The Big Boat Wins.
That really sucks the tanker didn't make a course change.

That's an odd one, Gord. I'm gonna guess that the cat had somehow fouled Gulser Ana's anchor cable. It seems an extreme method to free it.

I looked, you are right about the freighter. I had to stop the video to see the guages and I see the course change also plus reverse engine. Thanks.

- the Cat does not look like its listing at all -seems from what I see shes floating high and dry- hum I would like to know more also?

I am with you on this one. Something doesn't seem right here. It says they abandoned ship at 1:30 because it as taking on water, then the bulk carrier picked them up at 4:30, thats three hours of taking on water and I can still see the water line, either the time line is off or there is more to this story than is being told.

unsinkable?
The Venezia 42 is constructed of foam-cored fiberglass, so theoretically it's unsinkable even if both hulls are holed. This might explain why it was still floating on its lines, but makes it even more confusing why the crew would want to abandon ship.
