Sheet to tiller steering film

Hello Everyone!
For some time now I experiment with sheet to tiller self steering on my OE29. I'm quite pleased with the results so far and would like to share information and tips with likeminded. Early this autumn I filmed a sequence with my new arrangement, it might be of interest to the forum. If you are in to this, please share your thoughts. Some parts of the film have quite an annoying wind sound in the mike, for which I apologize.

I see merit in your system for it makes possible to change the stiffness of the restoring torque provided by the rubber tubing.

I think it would be possible to fine-tune the equilibrium by replacing both bars on the tiller with threaded ones, each receiving a nut connected to the tubing or to the sheet. A small crank at the end of each bar would give you a hold for rotating it. This in turn would move the nut lengthwise and adjust the equilibrium.

I would like to try this system on my own yacht but the tiller is too close to the backstay.

SS you have had almost 2 years to perfect your system. I find it very interesting and I just viewed it for the first time today. I will be trying it on my boat this spring. Thank you so much for your post. Have you improved on this yet?
